Growing a Vision Into a Movement

What began with a single IHOP in Irvington, New Jersey, has blossomed into a movement rooted in perseverance, community, and purpose. From those early mornings on the griddle to the bustling dining rooms that followed, Adenah built more than restaurants—she built gathering places that nourish both body and spirit. Her portfolio now includes multiple IHOP locations and two original concepts: Cornbread, a farm-to-table soul food restaurant that celebrates heritage, family, and tradition; and Brick City Vegan, a bold plant-based eatery that reimagines comfort food through a modern, health-conscious lens. Each venture reflects Adenah’s belief that food is more than a business—it’s a bridge. A bridge between generations, between neighborhoods, and between dreams and opportunity. Through her restaurants, she continues to create spaces that feed people, employ people, and remind communities of what’s possible when passion meets purpose.

A Young Entrepreneur Making a Big Impact

At just 27 years old, Adenah Bayoh opened her first IHOP in Irvington, New Jersey—becoming one of the youngest franchisees in the country. What began as a dream rooted in hard work and faith has grown into a thriving restaurant enterprise. Today, Adenah owns three IHOP franchises across northern New Jersey, each one serving as a cornerstone of community, opportunity, and empowerment. Her flagship IHOP in Irvington remains one of the brand’s most successful locations and has helped make Adenah one of the largest employers in the township. Through every stack of pancakes and every job created, she continues to prove what’s possible when passion meets perseverance.

Farm-to-Soul Dining

Cornbread is where comfort meets consciousness — Adenah Bayoh’s first independent restaurant, built on the belief that soul food can nourish both people and communities. From the very beginning, Adenah set out to create a space that honors heritage, celebrates culture, and uplifts through food. Every dish tells a story — made from ingredients free of hormones and steroids, and prepared fresh daily with care and intention. The result is a “farm-to-soul” dining experience rooted in love, authenticity, and sustainability. Since opening its doors in Maplewood in 2017, Cornbread has grown to four thriving locations across New Jersey and New York — each one serving not just food, but community.
